The Black Stuff
In 2015 I discovered The Black Stuff, alien in its surroundings, littering the beach. Often wrapped up and camouflaged by native black seaweed, broken black fragments lay inert along the shore. The plastic, consistently regurgitated by the sea was traced to local industrial oyster farms, part of the equipment used globally in the mass production of oysters.
